Planning a beach wedding in Lagos: where to start
Date, guest count, and the order of the day — the three decisions that make every other part of a beach wedding easier.

A wedding on the sand is one of the most beautiful days Lagos can give you. It also has more moving parts than a hall-only wedding: the tide, the light, the heat of the afternoon and the walk from the aisle to the reception. Here is where we tell couples to begin.
1. Settle the date and the guest count first
Everything else — the layout, the décor, the catering numbers — follows from these two. You don't need a final list, just a range. Our enquiry form asks for a band (under 50, 50 – 150, up to 1,000) for exactly this reason.
Hall of Odin seats 500 for a banquet and 1,000 theatre-style, so the question is less whether everyone fits and more how you want the room to feel.

2. Plan the day around the light
The best vows on the beach happen when the sun has softened. Many couples hold the joining on the sand in the late afternoon, then move inside for the reception as the evening comes in — the sea still visible through the glass.
3. Decide what happens where
- The joining — at the gazebo on the sand, guests seated facing the water.
- Photographs — the shoreline and the white columns of the hall, at golden hour.
- The reception — in the hall, dressed by your decorator, your way.
- The afterparty — the same hall, the lights down and the dance floor full.
Having everything in one place means your guests never get in a car between moments.

4. Give your decorator time
Our packages include access the day before, so your decorator can dress the hall and the beach without rushing on the morning itself.
